Customer Advisory: ILWU (Canada West Coast) – Update 6

​Dear Valued Customer,

Pursuant to our earlier notice regarding labor developments in Canada, the British Columbia Maritime Employers Association (BCMEA) have received communication from the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Canada that the ILWU Longshore Caucus approved the tentative deal proposed by the senior federal mediator and ratified by the BCMEA on July 13, 2023.   The next step is to send the tentative deal to a ratification by the ILWU voting membership next week.

Therefore, there will be a stop work meeting scheduled for Tuesday, July 25 at 08:00 shift for all Locals, with the voting membership anticipated on Thursday, July 27.  The voting outcome is expected to be communicated on July 28 or thereafter.
