Rail Service Disruption in Canada
Rail Service Disruption in Canada
August 20, 2024

As a result of unsuccessful labor negotiations between the Canadian railways and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference, a 72-hour strike/lockout notice has been issued to begin on August 22, 2024.  This will restrict all cargoes moving via rail within Canada and includes any shipments from/to the US moving cross-border.

Currently, restrictions on Refrigerated and Hazardous Cargo are in place and will be expanded to include all cargoes moving via the Canadian railway as of August 22nd at 00:01 ET.

Due to these limitations, delivery and pick-up of your shipment(s) may be impacted.  As the situation remains fluid, we urge you and your motor carrier to check for updates and confirm any local ramp receiving restrictions with the rail carriers prior to making any dispatch arrangements.
