USEC/Gulf Work Disruption
Dear Valued Customer,
The contract between the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) and the United States Maritime Alliance Ltd (USMX) expired on September 30th.
The ILA commenced with a strike as of 12:01 am, October 1st, 2024. This impacts all ports and terminals from Maine through Texas.
Due to this situation, please note the following:
Import Cargo: If your cargo is currently at one of the facilities impacted, access to this cargo will not be possible until the respective terminals open. For cargo that is currently inbound to the USEC/Gulf and vessel has not yet arrived, updated vessel schedules will be issued as soon as information is available.
Export Cargo: Due to the current labor situation, delivery of cargo is restricted at affected terminals. As this also will impact rail receiving, prior to empty pick up for your container, please check with the receiving location to verify any restrictions. Updated vessel schedules will be issued when available.
For questions regarding your specific shipment, please contact our local customer service representatives.
OOCL continues to closely monitor and will provide updates when more information becomes available.
For more information on the labor situation, please refer to USMX-ILA Negotiations Updates

We appreciate your business.
