Michaels
Stores Applauds OOCL Logistics C-TPAT Program
Michaels Stores, Inc, the nation’s largest specialty
retailer of arts and crafts material, understands the
importance of enhancing
security measures in the supply chain process. By partnering
with both U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) and
OOCL Logistics in their C-TPAT program, Michaels has
demonstrated their commitment to this import Homeland
Security initiative. In November, USCBP sent a Supply Chain
Specialist Team to Asia to validate the Michaels C-TPAT
program.
Michaels’ logistics provider - OOCL Logistics(OLL) is also a member
of C-TPAT and performs certain critical functions in the
Michaels Program. Having already gone through similar
validations with other clients, OLL provided insight for
Michaels on the validation process, as well as assistance in
the presentation of the Michaels process to USCBP. “Your staff did a super job presenting the program and
dazzled the CBP validators. CBP gave our program an
“EXCELLENT” rating, with no requested improvements
required”, Rich Markovich, Director, International
Logistics and Compliance at Michaels, stated to OOCL
Logistics.
Every stakeholder in the supply chain process has a role to
play to insure a secure supply chain process. For more C-TPAT
information, please refer to the CBP site:
