OOCL receives the BDP International's 2008 Partner Vision
Award

BDP
International presented OOCL with their 2008 Partner Vision
Award at a luncheon held at their Elk Grove Village office
on Friday, October 10th,2008.
BDP announced at the event that "The partnership between
OOCL and BDP is what makes our jobs easier." They also
stated that there is always a cooperative atmosphere
whenever they work with anyone from OOCL making it a solid
partnership..
There were seven other awards ranging from Airport traffic,
freight forwarders and trucking companies.
The award was accepted by Ms Angela Taylor (OOCL Import CSU
Supervisor).

South China - US East Coast Service - Winter Schedule

The South China
Express Service (SCE) will be temporarily adjusted to cover
the additional ports of the New York Express Service (NYX)
of the New World Alliance. The Grand Alliance and New
World Alliance have agreed to jointly operate the loop for a
period of 18 weeks as a seasonal arrangement.
The revised SCE service will make additional eastbound calls
at Yantian and Manzanillo. Further Miami, Manzanillo,
Balboa, San Pedro, Busan and Shanghai have been added. The
revised SCE port rotation is Shanghai, Shekou, Yantian, Hong
Kong, Kaohsiung, Panama Canal, Manzanillo, New York,
Norfolk, Savannah, Miami, Manzanillo, Balboa, San Pedro,
Busan, Shanghai.
The revised SCE service will continue to be complemented by
the GA’s other Asia-US East Coast via the Panama Canal
services – the NCE (North China Express) and PAX (Pacific
Atlantic Express).
The service changes have been made to ensure continuation of
the service network by adjusting capacity to the seasonal
demand of our customers.

Three CIFFA Forwarder's Choice Awards for 2008

OOCL was the
proud winner in three categories at the 2008 Canadian
International Freight Forwarders Association's Western
region's Forwarder's Choice Award Ceremony. OOCL picked up
the awards for U.K. Northern Europe Ocean, Far East Ocean
and the prestigious Carrier of the Year award.
Every year the three CIFFA regions award a prize for service
quality, transit times and reliability to the best shipping
and air-freight companies on the most important trade
routes. The nominations are based on a survey of the
association’s members and verification by an independent
commission.
The event held on October 10 and was attended by over 250
guests, honored both ocean and air carriers in 8 different
trade lanes.
Since 1999, OOCL has accepted nine awards from CIFFA Central
Region, eight from CIFFA Western Region and one from CIFFA
Eastern Region, including ten as the Best Ocean Carrier
between Canada and Far East, two as the Best Ocean Carrier
between Canada and Europe and three times as the "Ocean
Carrier of the Year."
CIFFA was founded in Montreal as early as 1948, to establish
a professional level in the industry, with uniform quality
standards. Today the association is divided into three
regions – West, East and Central Canada.

OOCL wins InfoWorld 100 Award for Technology Innovation
OOCL is delighted to
announce it has been named as a winner of the “InfoWorld 100 Awards”,
published on November 17 in California, US.
InfoWorld
Media Group is a division of International Data Group (IDG), the world's
leading technology media, research and event company. Every year,
InfoWorld's editorial staff names 100 companies that have made the best
use of technology to enhance their business. The InfoWorld 100 awards
celebrate IT projects that use technology in smart, innovative, creative
ways to meet business and technical objectives.
OOCL received the award in
the Transportation Category for “Lifecycle Management Visibility
Initiative”. OOCL improved visibility into the performance and
availability of its Integrated Regional Information System (IRIS-2)
lifecycle management system, integrating the application performance
management software from SL Corp with a wide array of underlying systems
infrastructures, including Oracle's OC4J, Tibco EMS, Hawk, and
BusinessWorks.

the business. We are committed to continuous improvement through

Tung Guest Speaker at the 20th Annual Textiles and
Apparel Trade and Transportation Conference

OOCL Chairman
Mr. C.C. Tung was privileged to be the Guest Speaker at this
year's Annual Textile and Apparel Trade Conference held in
New York in November.
OOCL hosted a
party for our customers during this event.
The United
States Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel
(USA-ITA) was founded in 1988 and is a non-profit industry
association representing the interests of the textile and
apparel importing community before Congress, the
Administration, U.S. Customs, the business community and the
public.
Founded by nine companies, the Association has grown to a
current membership of over 200 companies. USA-ITA’s website,
regular seminar series, up to the minute memoranda,
newsletters, and on-line information update importers on
relevant business and trade issues. As a unified voice for
the industry, USA-ITA has access to those in the Washington
trade community who shape the policies that affect the
importing community. Membership in USA-ITA is open to U.S. -
based companies involved in the importation of textile and
apparel products.

China’s 24 hour Advanced Manifest Regulation
OOCL
would like to notify our customers that China Customs
has announced a new 24 hour Advanced Manifest
Regulation, to take effect on 1st January 2009. The rule
requires all ocean carriers to submit a list of
customs-defined manifest data to China Customs at least
24 hours prior to cargo loading. The regulation is
applicable to all import, export and transshipped cargo
via any China Ports (except Hong Kong).

OOCL will make the appropriate changes to the
documentation process in order to comply with the
customs requirement and secure cargo loading for our
customers, and will continue to update customers on any
further developments on this issue. OOCL is already fully compliant in requiring shippers to
place ISO PAS 7712 standard HSS seals for all USA
inbound containers prior to tendering to OOCL at origin
load port.

Customer Centric - A partnership to build on
OOCL
Logistics has been recognized as having provided The Disney
Store with “outstanding service within its supply chain”.
OOCL Logistics was presented with the "2008 Vendor Award for
Supply Chain" by the Disney Store UK at its annual Vendor
Conference in London on November 25, 2008.
“We truly appreciate all of your efforts and hard work in
managing our supply chain in the Far East. Without your
continued support, we would simply not be able to function
at the level of efficiency we are currently able. With new
stores opening both in the UK and in Continental Europe plus
plans to open two stores in Russia in 2010, your continued
support is a key to our exciting development programme,”
said John Egan, Manager of Imports, The Disney Store Ltd in
the UK.
The Disney Store UK contracts its supply chain business to
Europe with OOCL Logistics, who in turn use OOCL for 100
percent of its sea freight.
