Introduction of OOCL Tariff and Tariff Surcharges Effective 1 October 2008
in the Oceania -Mediterranean/Europe Trades
Please be advised that effective 1 October 2008, OOCL will introduce its own Tariff and Tariff Surcharges to be compliant with the upcoming EU competition law in the Oceania-Mediterranean/Europe Trades.
OOCL will introduce replacement surcharges independent of the former conference system on the 1st of October related primarily to fuel, currency exchange, and terminal handling. These and any other surcharges put forth by OOCL will come under regular and periodic review upon sufficient advance notice.
OOCL's new BAF surcharges for the month of October 2008 will be as follows:
Fuel Surcharge (BAF):
Australia/New Zealand to Mediterranean/Europe Trade – US$536/TEU
Mediterranean/Europe to Australia/New Zealand Trade – US$892/TEU
Remarks : CAF is not applicable for Dry to/from Australia/New Zealand
OOCL BAF will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
As for our new Terminal Handling Charges (THC/THD), please refer to the below pages for the details of our THCs and THDs applicable to ports in both the Oceania and European regions. They will also go into effect on 1 October 2008.
