Advance Manifest Submission
To comply with People's Republic of China, Customs requirements, OOCL will be submitting the Advance Manifest to China Customs as from 1 July 2009.  The submissions are required to be submitted prior to vessel commencing to work in Australia.  Initially the submissions will be parallel with the current system.  China Customs have confirmed for the initial period they may not issue DO NOT LOAD instructions.

These requirements exclude Hong Kong and Macau.

We wish to remind exports, that in order to comply with the submission requirements, OOCL will need to receive your fully completed Shipping Instructions by 54 hours prior to the vessel's arrival time at load port.

AMS Fee
The processing and submission of Advance Manifests creates additional work by the line, similar to the Advance Manifest submissions for the USA trade.  A fee US$25.00 per bill of lading will be charged effective 1 July, 2009 on all cargo destined to China.  The fee will appear on the Bill of lading as AMS.
