The Victorian Government introduced the Port Management Amendment (Port of Melbourne Corporation License Fee) Bill 2011 which proposed that the Port of Melbourne Corporation be required to pay an annual Port License Fee.  Port of Melbourne has decided to levy shipping lines accordingly on all incoming and outgoing containers, with effect 1st July 2012.

We hereby advise customers of the below new surcharge to be applicable on both dry and reefer cargoes.

Melbourne Port License Fee

Export loading at Melbourne

Effective date 1st of July 2012, based on shipment onboard vessel date (for export) and arrival date (for import).

Above tariff rate is subject to GST for import containers, and inclusive of GST for export containers.
