Adelaide Channel Widening Levy

Dear Customer,

Note Flinders Ports will increase their Channel Widening Levy from the 1st January 2019. OOCL will be implementing a separate surcharge for this levy that will be collected from importers and exporters.

With effect from 1st January 2019 OOCL's Adelaide Channel Widening Levy (code - ACW) will be AUD26.60 / TEU subject to GST, applicable to all inbound and outbound laden cargo.

•           Export –

effective from AAA2 vessel Grouse Hunter v.020N & ASA vessel CPO Jackson v.1849N

•           Import –

effective from AAA2 vessel Grouse Hunter v.020S & ASA vessel CPO Jackson v.1849S

Flinders Ports estimate the project to cost $80m, which involves the lengthening of the swing basin off the container terminal in addition to the widening of the 11 km shipping channel to a width of 170 meters. This width will accommodate the largest vessels expected to call Port Adelaide in the foreseeable future.
