COVID-19 – Business Continuation Measures
COVID-19 – Business
Continuation Measures
Firstly,
OOCL sincerely hopes that all our colleagues, customers, vendors and their
families are healthy, remain vigilant, and stay positive during these
challenging times.
In view of the challenges we are all facing, OOCL in
Australia & New Zealand would like to assure you that we have taken
specific measures in this region with regard to our Business Continuity Plan to
ensure that our operations remain as undisrupted as possible. OOCL understand
that if we can continue to provide the ‘ease of doing business’ you are
familiar with, then you will have confidence to get on with the priorities
within your own business.
OOCL can advise that we have the majority of our staff
working from home with full systems and phone access as per usual ‘in-office’
operations. As such, how you have made contact with OOCL in the past, is how
you make contact with OOCL now.
OOCL will continue to also have limited staff working
from our Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Auckland offices, however we
recommend all unnecessary visits by customers and vendors be cancelled. For any
necessary visits, please make phone or email/chat arrangements with your usual
OOCL contact prior to making any office visit plans.
Southbound / Import Customers:
We
strongly encourage customers that can accept shipments via Seaway Bill of
Lading to do so for all future shipments. OOCL will provide work around
solutions for any necessary lodgment of Original Bill of Ladings requirements
for our import customers. Please reach out to your usual OOCL import team
member to learn of the options we have to release cargo being shipped under
Original Bill of Ladings.
Northbound
/ Export Customers:
Already
the majority of our export customers have been enjoying the ability to print
their Original Bill of Lading directly from their office (or home) for many
years, eliminating the need to visit an OOCL office. With the easy to use ‘Bill
Print” function within our e-Commerce platform “My OOCL Centre (MOC)” OOCL hope
that 100% of our customers can enjoy this function in the coming weeks. Just
visit www.oocl.com and look for the My OOCL Centre icon. Export Customers should also
consider shipments under Seaway Bill of Lading wherever possible as this will
greatly assist shipment handling at destination.

OOCL
is working closely with our Government Agencies, Port Authorities, Terminals,
Depots and all our key vendors that provide the essential services needed to
meet our customers’ expectations. Together we all need to have robust Business Continuity Plans in place. OOCL, together with our industry bodies, will
continue liaising with government to ensure all import & export freight
logistics activities can continue without the effects of any Covid-19 measures
being implemented.
Our
Sales Team will stay in close contact with customers. They remain ready to
receive your email, take your phone call, or set up a virtual face to face
meeting.
Lastly,
and most importantly, stay safe and take care.
Yours faithfully,
OOCL (Australia) Pty Ltd.
