Transport Additional Surcharge (TAD)

Dear Customer,

All shipping lines continue to face significant schedule delays around the Australian coast due to the ongoing industrial action taking place. Whilst over the last month OOCL has deployed additional services to keep our customers cargo moving and supply chains working, the worsening port congestion in Australian ports especially Sydney has severely impacted our entire Australian service network. In an effort to improve schedule integrity, planned port omissions will become more frequent in both Australia and Asia on many of our service loops.

In addition to planned schedule adjustments, OOCL and our consortium partners may need to make adhoc port omissions on voyages that have already departed Asia. These sudden decisions will be made to minimize delays and help avoid disruptions that will impact future voyages. In the event that OOCL must discharge containers at an Australian port that is not the final destination, OOCL will provide customers the option to take delivery from this port with COD Admin fee waived and make their own transport arrangements to final destination which will be on the customer’s account. Alternatively, customers can also choose to have the containers remain at the discharge terminal and wait for the next available vessel on the same service loop to take cargo to their original requested final destination. To help mitigate the additional operational costs associated with this move to the next available vessel on the same service loop, a Transport Additional Surcharge (TAD) will apply on a freight collect basis as per the below:

However, please note that the below (TAD) costs do not apply to reefer shipments, and for reefer shipments we ask you to contact your local sales or customer service representative to discuss the available options,

Transport Additional surcharge (TAD) amount:          USD 250 per 20ft GP container

                                                                                    USD 500 per 40ft GP/HQ container.

OOCL regret any inconvenience caused by the current situation being experienced.

Thank you for the attention and support.
