Monthly CAF/BAF and Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge

The Member Lines of the FEFC wish to advise Shippers:-

Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)
The BAF applicable for the month of September 2006 will be USD 305.00 per TEU/USD 15.25 W/M LCL.

Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge – Baltic Sea Ports

As customers may be aware, under the requirements of the Marpol 73/78 convention, the Baltic Sea is designated as a special area as from 19th May 2006. This means that vessels operating in this area must use fuel oils with a sulphur content not exceeding 1.5%.

Therefore, for cargoes to/from Baltic Sea destinations, a Low Sulphur Fuel Surcharge of USD 5/TEU will apply with effect from 1st September 2006. This will be in addition to the FEFC BAF mentioned above.

Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF)
The CAF applicable for the month of September 2006 will be +7.7 %.
