Asia-Europe Trade, Intra-Asia Trade, Intra-Europe Trade, and Asia/Europe-Australia Trade - Rate Applicability Rule Update
Local News

Date:  December 26, 2014

Subject: Asia-Europe Trade, Intra-Asia Trade, Intra-Europe Trade, and Asia/Europe-Australia Trade -  Rate Applicability Rule Update

Dear Valued Customer,

With effect from 1st January, 2015, the rates, charges and rules governing cargo movements under Asia-Europe Trade, Intra-Asia Trade, Intra-Europe Trade, and Asia/Europe-Australia Trade will be based on the date when a shipment is received by the carrier or its agent.  A shipment shall not be considered as "received" until the full bill of lading quantity has been received.  In other words, these shipments will adopt the rate and charges based on the actual gate-in date at the first laden receiving facility.  If there are more than one containers under the same bill of lading, we refer to the date when its last container was received by the carrier.

During the transitional period, we will refer to the actual departure date of the first vessel of the shipment in implementing the new rate date rule.
•     If the actual departure date of the first vessel of the shipment falls on or before 31 December 2014, current rate date rules of the respective Trades will be applied.
•     If the actual departure date of the first vessel of the shipment falls on or after 1 January 2015, the above new rate date rule will be applied.

For further information, please kindly contact our local sales representatives.

Thank you for your understanding during this transitional period, and we look forward to your continual support.

Yours sincerely,
