Customer Advisory: Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) Mandatory Electronic Reporting for Exporters Customs Notice 12-001 

Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has issued Customs Notice 12-001 advising effective April 1st, 2012, CBSA will take steps to eliminate the manual export reporting process (B13A form) for Exporters.  CBSA will require mandatory electronic reporting from Exporters by one of the following two methods:
1)  Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED)
2)  G7 Export Reporting Electronic Data Interchange (G7-EDI)

CBSA has advised Customs Notice 12-001 does not impact Exporters who are approved to report their exports to CBSA utilizing the summary report option.

As a reminder, please ensure to provide the Canada Proof of Report number on your Bill of Lading  Shipping Instructions to OOCL Documentation by the Documentation Due Date on your OOCL Booking Acknowledgment.  Bill of Lading Shipping Instructions can be submitted to OOCL by one of the following methods:

  1. Via My OOCL Center (http://www.oocl.com/)
  2. SI via EDI
  3. SI via e-Mail

    Eastern Canada – [email protected] 

Draft Bill of Lading will be available within 24 hours of receipt of complete Shipping Instructions.
