OOCL Canada Gives Back to Local Students

OOCL Canada (OCI) was invited to attend the annual Business Exposé at Sheridan College last month. The Business Exposé aims to connect successful businesses in the global marketplace with students. Companies are able to obtain information about the students’ current career path options and in our case, students were able to learn about OCI and the shipping industry. It was also an ideal opportunity to expose OCI to the community and help the students of Sheridan College.
Francis Ma (Operations/Toronto), a Sheridan Alumni himself, was honored to attend on our behalf and happy to give back to his alma mater. Here, Francis was able to share information on OOCL business areas, life as an OOCL employee and his personal business experiences, as well.
In the past summer, we had two interns from Sheridan College. Francis was able to reconnect with Julia and Mishka, and was informed that their OOCL experience has enabled them to add value and insight to their curriculum, specifically their transportation and logistics class. Students were excited and interested in potentially working for OOCL one day. It was a rewarding and worthwhile experience for all.
