Container Throughput of Chinese Mainland Ports Hit 100 Million TEUs

The 100 millionth container of Chinese mainland ports 2007 was slowly lifted up at Tianjin Five Continents International Container Terminal at 15:30, November 28, while Mr. Li Sheng Lin, Minister of Ministry of Communications of China and Mr. Da Xiang Long, Mayor of Tianjin Municipal Government pressed the button jointly. It is a great milestone of the development of China’s shipping industry, which indicates that container transportation of Chinese mainland enters a new era.

The event was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Communications of China and Tianjin Municipal Government, with about 400 representatives from transportation (port) administrative departments of all levels, ports, shipping   companies took part in the ceremony.

OOCL expressed warmly congratulations to the event, and wish that China’s shipping industry will have a more prosperous future.
