On March 31st, 2009, Shanghai Customs approved to upgrade management category of OOCL Logistics (China) Ltd. from B to A, according to the provisions of the "Measures of the Customs of the People's Republic of China for the Classified Management of Enterprises". So far, A category is the highest grade awarded by Shanghai Customs for Customs Brokerage Agent.
OOCL Logistics (China) Ltd. set up Customs House Brokerage Unit (CHB) on Nov 15, 2007, the first carrier based foreign logistics company started customs brokerage service in China. Major businesses of CHB are to declare import/export goods on behalf of clients; Act as bridge between Customs House and clients; Offer related services and assistance to clients on customs declaration.
The Customs will, in light of the enterprises' performances in observing laws and regulations, business management situations, as well as the Customs supervision and statistical records, etc., establish five management categories of AA, A, B, C and D to evaluate and classify relevant enterprises, and formulate corresponding differential management measures for enterprises in different management categories, of which the enterprises in categories of AA and A shall be subject to corresponding convenient customs clearance measures, including allowing A category enterprises to summit declaration to local (inland) customs while obtaining clearance at ports(属地报关、口岸验放); to handle customs clearance before export cargo entering into customs’ supervision area; to have priority in on-site customs declaration, inspection and release procedures and in expedited customs clearance during non-office hours and holidays, etc.
Although CHB of OOCL Logistics has started operation for only one year, it is well recognized by Shanghai Customs for the professional team and the high quality service.
