At 18:20 on July 16, blasts hit China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC)’s oil pipeline in the port city of Dalian in northeast China's Liaoning Province. The fire has been extinguished and no casualties were reported.
However, due to the dark brown belt of crude oil and other pollution stretches at least 50 square kilometers in seawaters off Dalian's Harbor, the berthing of Dalian port has been suspended. All vessels have been forced to anchor off the terminals. The port is estimated to resume operation at the night of July 19.
OOCL's service is therefore slightly affected. Below is the estimated berthing plan for the services affected:
Service Vessel/Voyage Estimated Berthing ETD
NTX TENG YUN HE 027S 0:00 July 20 06:00 July 20
Public feeder SHENG HE 023 E 19:00 July 19 07:00 July 20
CTV/CTE/004/S might not be able to berth until the afternoon of July 20, due to port congestion in DICT, which means CTV/CTE/004/S will have 1 to 1.5 days delay, comparing with long term schedule.
GA-BHF service has changed port rotation to call Xingang first, then call Dalian on July 22. ETA of CIX service is also July 22, which will not be affected if Dalian Port resume operation tonight.
We will monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates on latest developments. For furthur enquiry, please contact OOCL's Dalian office at (0411) 82777070.
