Denmark – the oldest monarchy of the world - covers an area of 43,093 square kilometers and is comprised of the peninsula of Jutland and 443 islands, of which ca 20 percent are inhabited. Denmark is one of Europe's most distinct island countries with a total cost-line of 7,031 km. The biggest island is Zealand where the capital – Copenhagen – is located.

The total population of the country is around 5.8 million people.
