OOCL Wins Prestigious Lloyd’s List Australia Awards
OOCL is proud to announce that we have won several of the Lloyd’s List Australia Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards.
The Awards consists of 16 categories in total. Nominees and winners in each category were determined by a judging panel and the editorial staff of Lloyd’s List Australia. OOCL is proud to have won the Liner Trade Award for Australia – North East Asia and the Environmental Transport Award. We were also highly commended in the category of Liner Trade for Australia – Europe.
The Liner Trade Awards was judged on the basis of Customer Service which was defined as a combination of Customer Satisfaction and Schedule Reliability. The essential criteria for customer satisfaction is a combination of IT/communication capabilities, availability of equipment, cargo tracking capabilities, responding to customer complaints, procedures to deal with agencies such as Customs and Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service and testimonials from customers.
As for the Environmental Transport Award, participants have to give practical examples of initiatives which show their environmentally enhanced operating procedures; management and monitoring systems to measure targets in environmental goals or for general environmental initiatives either in the community or with other industry stakeholders.
The presentation ceremony of the 17th Lloyd’s List Annual Australia Shipping and Maritime Industry Awards was held at the Doltone House in Sydney on November 28, 2012 and was attended by hundreds of executives from Australia’s shipping, ports and maritime industry.
On receiving the recognitions, Mr. Eddy Declercq, Managing Director of OOCL Australia, attributed the accomplishment to the hard work of all OOCL colleagues and that we are particularly proud about winning the Environmental Transport Award.
He said, “It is very encouraging and great to see OOCL being recognized for our efforts at driving initiatives and managing processes and systems that allow us to conduct our business in a sustainable environment. We thank all our stakeholders and supporters for their helpful contributions and vote of confidence in OOCL.”
