OOCL ranked top carrier 2014 by AgTC

OOCL is proud to announce that we have been ranked the top carrier for 2014 in the Ocean Performance Survey conducted by the Agriculture Transportation Coalition (AgTC).  The result was announced on June 26, at the 26th Annual Meeting of the AgTC in San Francisco.

OOCL has been awarded the top three carriers for the last 6 years and it is the third time that we have won the top performing carrier award.

The AgTC survey is conducted every year on all the US agricultural and forest products exporters and importers from all geographic locations for their ranking of performance of the container transport carriers who have transported their dry and refrigerated products.

The award is considered a benchmark used by the agricultural community in the selection of carriers and the ranking is based on eleven discrete performance elements according to AgTC, which include:

• consistent availability of correct sizes and types of container equipment needed
• consistent availability of slots on vessels and equipment needed each week by port and service string
• overall document accuracy and efficiency
• accuracy in shipment rating and bill of lading release/turn time
• willingness to accept shippers' export documentation as close to cargo cut-off as possible
• advertised vs. actual vessel schedule and transit time
•  intermodal door service and availability from shipper facilities or interior gateways
• terminal service and efficiency at US ports
• terminal service and efficiency at foreign ports
• understanding and adaptation to commercial needs of the agriculture community
•  representatives' response time and ability to address problems

Mr. Edward Zaninelli, Vice President, Westbound Trans-Pacific Trade and Mr. Andy Lumley, Vice President, Customer Service, North America of OOCL represented the company to receive the award.

Peter Friedman (L-3), AgTC Executive Director, presenting the award to Ed Zaninelli (L-4) and OOCL team.

Mr. Zaninelli was especially proud of OOCL being recognized  as the best in the industry in dealing with the shipping document, as the accuracy and efficiency of documentation are of critical importance to the agricultural community both in terms of quick loading of perishables for transport to the markets for the importers and the prompt payments received by the exporters.

OOCL is committed to building a strong relationship with the AgTC as well as to becoming a choice business partner of the agricultural community of the US.
