Assistant Manager - Commercial

Accountabilities


  • To oversee Regions’ model ship performance; direct, manage & facilitate regions to meet & exceed Trade’s goals & objectives against the target lifting and revenue levels. Practice value pricing strategies to facilitate target achievement. 
  • To ensure swift & quality response to pricing request, manage service contracts & bid/tender processes as per Trade’s objectives through close communication with Regions. 
  • To monitor the committed contract MQC fulfilment and provide guidance to regions to manage the booking to the benefits of the company. 
  • To optimize contribution level through improvement of cargo mix; customers portfolio and equipment match back. 
  • To provide clear and concise guidelines to Region to allow for quick response to customers. 
  • To evaluate new business & E2E opportunities with Regions; Co-ordinate with Regions to implement tactical sales plans to cope with the market trend/changes. 
  • To review and evaluate the KPIs of the Regions on a regular basis with Commercial Head. 
  • To support the administration of ad-hoc or long term Commercial matters as surfaced by Regions.

​Requirements

  • University graduate in Business, Shipping & Logistics, or related disciplines.  
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the container shipping industry.  
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.  
  • Able to work independently and under pressure; possess business sense and be team-oriented.  
  • High proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese; Putonghua is a plus.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications.  
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau) is a plus.
