A series of CSR Projects from Malaysia Offices to Give Back to Society
OOCL Malaysia and OLL Logistics Malaysia dedicated their three offices' Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects to respectively supporting a fundraising concert, visiting orphanage children, and donating resources to a low-resource hospital. By engaging various stakeholders in the CSR projects, our Malaysia offices showcased the impacts of collective action to inspire individuals and groups to come together for a good cause.
PEN Office Engages Stakeholders in Supporting a Fundraising Concert
On Decembre 9, 2023, our Penang (PEN) office supported Wesley Methodist School Penang’s fundraising Christmas concert to fund the impactful work of Charis Hospice Penang, a non-profit organization that offers free palliative home care services for patients with life-threatening illnesses.
All the proceeds raised by the Christmas concert were dedicated to the charitable NGO. To support this meaningful fundraiser, our PEN office purchased 50 tickets for the school concert and gave them to our customers to support the event. Our colleagues volunteered at the counter during the concert to ensure smooth operations. A total of 450 goody bags were also prepared to invigorate the concert-goers, which included Vitamin C supplements, handmade soap and cookies.
In addition, our PEN office ran a fundraising drive from December 1-8 to engage colleagues, customers, vendors, and partners in supporting the charitable organization. All the funds raised through our PEN office’s network went entirely to support Charis Hospice Penang’s meaningful work.
PKG Office Visits and Sends Resources to an Orphanage
On December 28, 2023, our Port Klang (PKG) office conducted a CSR project to benefit Kindly Orphan & Handicap Welfare Homes. The office sent representatives from each department to help deliver donated items to the orphanage, which included Christmas goody bags, milk powders, induction cookers, storybooks and stationery.
Our PKG office also organized a coloring session for the 10 children and 9 individuals with disabilities there to help create beautiful memories. They also provided kids' favorite fast-food lunch meals to the beneficiaries and the workers there. The activities helped create a more inclusive and caring environment.
PGU Office Donates Materials to a Hospital
On December 18, 2023, our Pasir Gudang (PGU) office supported Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru, a government-funded multi-specialty hospital by donating wheelchairs, disposable diapers, and wet wipes to care for the specific needs of the patients. The initiative provided essential resources to improve the well-being of those requiring specialized care, creating a more comfortable environment for them.
