Canadian Colleagues Run for Breast Cancer Research
On Sunday, September 30, 2018 OOCL Toronto and Vancouver colleagues participated in the CIBC Run for the Cure for the fourth year in a row. The national fundraising event supports the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation towards breast cancer research. Colleagues, families and friends gathered together to help support the community and those affected by breast cancer.
Since 1992, the run has raised over CAD $430 million for breast cancer research. Last year, 80,000 participants across Canada raised CAD $17 million. Funds raised through the Run are directed towards research, such as improving screening technology, developing new and targeted treatments, and discovering how to reduce the rate of recurrence. It also supports programs that provide support and improve the quality of life of people impacted by breast cancer.
