Guangzhou Office Conducts a Volunteer Home Visit
In July 2024, our Guangzhou offices from OOCL Logistics (China) and OOCL Hong Kong Branch collaborated with the local West Village Social Work Station to conduct a volunteer home visit service activity. Titled "Building a Safe and Harmonious Community," this initiative focused on sharing knowledge about chronic disease prevention and healthcare with the target group.
More than 36 colleagues were divided into 15 groups, visiting 30 underprivileged elderly or disabled households in the community. They distributed essential supplies to help the families cope with the summer heat. This included electric fans, mosquito repellents, and toilet water — items that provided much-needed relief and comfort to residents. Alongside these practical gifts, the volunteers also shared personal hygiene awareness and information about dengue fever prevention.
Through these meaningful interactions, the volunteers not only provided material support but also spread warmth, care, and hygienic and environmental awareness, making a positive impact on the lives of the elderly and underprivileged in Shenzhen and Guangzhou. The team has demonstrated their commitment to building a more inclusive and vibrant society.
