​​Guangzhou Colleagues Bring Community Care to Elderly Residents in Pazhou​

On July 12, 2026, 55 colleagues from the Guangzhou offices of the South China and Hong Kong Region and OOCL Logistics China joined a community care activity for elderly residents in Pazhou, Guangzhou, China. The initiative aimed to support local elderly residents through companionship, social engagement and practical health education, reflecting the companies' ongoing commitment to community care and corporate social responsibility.

The activity began with a traditional fan-making workshop, where elderly participants created decorative hand fans using assorted pigments. The hands-on activity offered a creative way for participants to enjoy a traditional craft while helping them exercise hand coordination and flexibility.

Social workers then delivered a health and environmental protection session covering the prevention of mosquito-borne diseases, including dengue fever and chikungunya fever, which are more prevalent during summer. The session offered practical advice to help residents protect their health and well-being. Following the workshop and health talk, volunteers accompanied the elderly residents in a Cantonese dim sum gathering. The relaxed setting encouraged conversation and interaction, allowing volunteers and residents to connect and enjoy each other's company.

Through this meaningful initiative, OOCL demonstrated our continued support for the local community and their commitment to making a positive social impact.
