Hong Kong (China) Colleagues Support Mooncake Donation for Underprivileged Families

Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the lantern or moon festival, takes place annually on the 15th day of the eighth month in the Chinese calendar. This year, the festival falls on September 21. To celebrate the holiday, families and friends gather to revel in festivities like feasting on mooncakes, playing with lanterns, and moon gazing.

To reduce waste in this Mid-Autumn Festival and to help those in need in the community, our volunteer team in Hong Kong (China) organized a mooncake donation campaign to gather surplus mooncakes for the re-distribution to underprivileged families through Food Angels, a Hong Kong-based food rescue charity.

Thanks for the generosity of our colleagues, we received a donation of 89 pieces of mooncakes with assorted flavors over a 4-day collection period. All the donated mooncakes were delivered to Food Angels after the event.
