Hong Kong (China) Office Organizes Rock Cleaning Angels Cleanup Day

OOCL regards environmental protection as part of its community responsibility. In collaboration with the charitable institution Association for Geoconservation, Hong Kong (AGHK), our Hong Kong (China) office organized a Rock Cleaning Angels Cleanup Day in October 2023, to preserve rocks at Lei Yue Mun Quarry, a former stone quarry.

Rocks are a large contributor to ecosystems, from sheltering life to creating riverbanks. Recognizing the vital role played by rocks in nature, our Hong Kong (China) office organized  the rock cleanup event to clean graffiti from rocks to conserve the natural environment of a former quarry under the professional guidance of the AGHK's tour guides. 21 volunteers and their family members and friends geared up with gloves, brushes and sandpaper to rinse graffiti off rocks. The activity also included a guided geo tour, where the participants learned more about the close correlations between rocks, landforms and the ecosystem to have a better understanding of what their work meant to the environment.
