Malaysia Offices Support Hospice Palliative Care Through CSR Initiative

In December 2024, our Malaysia offices undertook a significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at raising awareness about hospice palliative care and supporting non-profit charity organizations dedicated to this vital cause. This initiative was designed to ensure that individuals suffering from life-limiting illnesses, who require end-of-life support, receive compassionate care during one of the most vulnerable stages of life. Additionally, it aimed to ease the emotional burden on families and caregivers.

Partnered NGOs

  • HOSPIS Malaysia – A charitable organization providing professional community palliative care to those with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, AIDS, organ failure, or progressive neurological conditions.
  • Charis Hospice Penang – A charity organization providing free palliative home care services for patients with cancer and other advanced critical illnesses.

Penang Office:

The Penang Office supplied Charis Hospice Penang with medical and necessary items. This contribution was intended to lessen the burden and cost for nurses and patients, ensuring they have the essential supplies needed for effective care.

Port Klang Office

Our Port Klang Liner and Logistics staff actively participated by donating to a charity bazaar organized by HOSPIS Malaysia, which took place on December 1, 2024, at Stella Maris International School Damansara. The event featured fun entertainment, live performances, art and craft workshops, a petting zoo, unique food and drinks stalls, and a lucky draw. Our Port Klang staff attended the event to show their support.

Additionally, a fundraising activity was organized among Port Klang colleagues, customers, and vendors to engage our stakeholders in supporting the meaningful causes. All proceeds from this initiative went to support the palliative care services provided by HOSPIS Malaysia, furthering their mission to offer compassionate care to those in need.

Through these efforts, our Malaysia offices aimed to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals receiving palliative care and to support the invaluable work of HOSPIS Malaysia and Charis Hospice Penang. We are proud of our Malaysia offices for their dedication and contribution to making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
