OOCL Cambodia's Efforts during COVID-19 Appreciated by Chinese Embassy
With appreciation for OOCL Cambodia’s contribution in supporting the urgent import of garment raw materials from China to Cambodia during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office of China of the Chinese Embassy expressed gratitude to the Company by delivering four boxes of rice to us. To make good use of the complimentary rice packs, our Cambodia office decided to donate them to a local charity organization named Missionaries of Charity, which supports child poverty alleviation.
In March 2020, as most factories in China were closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cambodia was urged on the garment raw material import from China to support the outbound demand. Just after China resumed the production, Cambodia garment factories urgently requested for securing the slot capacity and arranging fast delivery of raw materials to Cambodia.
With the coordination among Intra-Europe Trade and port of loading regions, we managed to deploy sufficient capacity and prioritized the cargo delivery to Cambodia. The Chinese Embassy appreciated our efforts and contribution in making these happen.
