Salt Lake City Colleagues Paddle for a Cause and Strengthen Community Connections
On August 22, colleagues from the OOCL USA Salt Lake City office participated in the annual Dragon Boat Festival hosted by LiveDAYBREAK in Utah. Guided by the event's "Giving Back" pillar, the festival supports organizations that help refugees and other vulnerable populations access essential resources and build stronger futures.
Twenty colleagues from across different functions came together to form the OOCL paddling team, dedicating personal time to training and preparing for the event. On race day, they demonstrated teamwork, determination, and collaboration, while family members and colleagues joined in support from the sidelines.
Beyond the races, the event provided an opportunity for OOCL colleagues to engage with the local community, celebrate cultural traditions, and support a meaningful cause. The team's second-place finish in the championship race was a fitting reward for their hard work and commitment.
The experience strengthened connections among colleagues and reinforced the spirit of teamwork and community involvement that extends beyond the workplace.
