Singapore Colleagues Bring Warmth and Mid-Autumn Joy to Elderly Residents

On October 3, colleagues from Singapore, together with their family members, extended the spirit of Mid-Autumn Festival togetherness to the elderly residents of Lee Ah Mooi Old Age Home in Singapore.

By spending time with the elderly residents, the volunteers offered companionship, warmth, and moments of joy.

Sharing Joy and Building Connections

The visit began with an icebreaker session, helping residents and volunteers to get to know one another in a welcoming atmosphere. A lively game of Bingo followed, bringing everyone together for a fun-filled afternoon.

Inspired by the Mid-Autumn Festival, residents and volunteers worked hand in hand to make paper lanterns. Using colorful embellishments, origami stars, and stickers, everyone unleashed their creativity, decorating the lanterns with their favorite colors and shaping them as they wished. Working side by side, they chatted and connected, adding warmth and a festive touch to the visit.

After completing their lanterns, residents and volunteers gathered for cake and tea, bringing the activities to a pleasant close. Before leaving, volunteers helped residents in wheelchairs return to their rooms and wards, sharing a final chat along the way.

Beyond the festive activities, the time, care, and companionship shared by our colleagues and their families brought warmth and a sense of togetherness to the residents, showing how small gestures can make a meaningful difference.
