UAE Colleagues Participate in Desert Cleanup at Al Marmoom Conservation Reserve
Our colleagues in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were invited by Dubai Racing Club to participate in the desert cleanup on February 13, 2022. The organizers initiated the cleanup to bring together different sectors of the community to promote sustainable development in the UAE.

The main focus was to pick up plastic trash (especially plastic bottle caps which are non-biodegradable and harmful to the wild) in areas where camels and desert animals freely roam around.

Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve is the first unfenced nature conservation reserve in the UAE. It is located in the desert area of Saih Al Salam in the emirate of Dubai and comprises some 10% of the total land area of the emirate, including the extensive man-made desert wetlands, Al Qudra Lakes. It is about 74km away from our office and it takes about an hour to reach the cleanup area.
