UK Colleagues Embrace Season of Giving
In December 2020, colleagues in the UK once again demonstrated the spirit of giving back to the community. They contributed their time and resources to support initiatives organized by two charitable organizations namely St Elizabeth Hospice and Save the Children, with an aim to share joy and happiness with patients and children in need.
“Giving Tree" by St Elizabeth Hospice
Giving Tree was a gift collection initiative run by St Elizabeth Hospice aiming to ensure all patients receive a gift on Christmas day. A collection box was placed in the office reception area for colleagues to drop off gifts. After 2 weeks of collection, we received piles of gifts which filled up two big carton boxes. A variety of gifts was collected, including daily necessitates such as blankets, toiletries, and life-style gifts such as perfume and coffee mugs.
Though most colleagues were working at home due to COVID-19, we had a huge number of donations that were passed over to the hospice on December 14, 2020, allowing plenty of time for the items to be cleaned, wrapped and ready to be given on Christmas day, and made a difference in the festive season.
“Christmas Jumper Day" by Save the Children
On December 11, 2020, colleagues in the UK participated in the annual Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children to share the warmth with children in need. Colleagues wore their festive knitwear for the day and made donations to the charity. Even though the majority of our colleagues were working from home, everyone participated this meaningful event.
