Vietnam Colleagues Support Children and Seniors in the Community
On July 27, 2026, colleagues from OOCL Vietnam and OOCL Logistics Vietnam came together for a community outreach day in Can Gio, Ho Chi Minh City. Through visits to Can Thanh Special School and Thanh Tam Nursing Home, the team donated essential supplies, spent time with children and seniors, and shared moments of care and connection.
The initiative reflected OOCL's commitment to supporting local communities and creating a positive social impact through meaningful volunteer activities.
Bringing Care and Joy to Children at Can Thanh Special School
The first stop of the outreach day was Can Thanh Special School, which provides education and support for children with a range of developmental and physical needs.
During the visit, the team donated learning materials and daily necessities, including books, notebooks, pens and milk. Employees also brought soft toys to share with the children, adding an extra touch of joy to the day.
Beyond the donations, volunteers spent time engaging with the children through creative activities such as coloring, drawing and statue decorating. The shared experiences created memorable moments for both the children and the volunteers, highlighting the importance of inclusion, encouragement and community support.
Sharing Warmth and Companionship with Seniors at Thanh Tam Nursing Home
The outreach day also included a visit to Thanh Tam Nursing Home, which provides care and support for elderly residents requiring assistance in their daily lives.
The team donated essential supplies, including milk, rice, sugar, instant noodles and cooking oil, to help support the home's residents. Equally important was the opportunity to spend time with the seniors, listening to their stories, learning about their experiences and sharing meaningful conversations.
These simple interactions brought warmth and companionship to the residents while providing volunteers with the opportunity to connect with and support members of the local community.
