Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) announced today the appointment of Baltic Group Limited as their new agent in Lithuania.
OOCL serves the Lithuanian market by utilizing its own dedicated Scan Baltic Express (SBX) via Riga, Latvia, and also by utilizing public feeders via Klaipeda. The SBX service has been making direct weekly calls at Riga since July 2001. The SBX port rotation is Antwerp – Thamesport – Hamburg – Gdansk – Hamina – St Petersburg – Riga – Hamburg – Antwerp. The schedule is designed to offer customers optimum transit times with relay to and from the deep-sea services linking Europe with Asia and North America. In addition, intra European cargo is carried and connects with OOCL’s recently announced Iberia Scan Express (ISX) service.
Ted Wang, Managing Director, OOCL (Europe) Ltd, London said, “The appointment of Baltic Group Limited in Lithuania represents another step in OOCL’s development in the Baltic States. We are confident it will lead to improved customer service quality in this expanding market.”
