OOCL Launches a Dedicated New Service between South Korea and North China

OOCL announces today a new dedicated service between South Korea and North China with a 300 Teu vessel. The service will start at Pusan, followed by Dalian, before heading to Xingang in North China.

" We have been taking cargo from Dalian and Xingang on third-party feeders for connection to trunk services over Pusan," said Mr. Stephen Ng, Director, Intra Asia Trade of OOCL. "In view of the rapid growth in trade and the enhancement of our service quality between North China and South Korea, we have decided to introduce our own dedicated service to serve the shippers in this market."

"Besides serving a new market between North China and South Korea, with better schedule coordination, and by berthing at PECT (Pusan East Container Terminal) where direct connections to trunk services can be made, this new service will reduce the transit-time from Dalian and Xingang to North America by up to four days," Mr. Ng said.

OOCL has been active in improving its market coverage for South Korea in recent years. The North China market is the latest addition following the Middle East market earlier this year. OOCL is now offering an extensive ports of call in South Korea with direct service in Incheon, Kwangyang and Pusan.

OOCL, headquartered in Hong Kong, is a global container transportation and logistic provider operating from 168 offices in 51 countries. Linking Asia, Europe, North America, the Mediterranean, the Indian sub-continent, the Middle East and Australia/New Zealand, the company offers transportation services to all major trading economies of the world.
