Built on the strong momentum of the early October 2000 launch, CargoSmart™, a common carrier platform, has added a new interactive Sailing Schedule to its suite of "smart" applications that places CargoSmart™ further ahead of competition.
With the new Sailing Schedule, customers can now search and filter over 4,000 points pairs schedule by cities and countries of origin and destination, cargo cutoff and availability times. This extends beyond the conventional searching by port pairs alone and allows more flexibility for customers to search for the best vessel/voyage that meet their shipping needs. In addition, customers can also sort their own schedule by dates, total transit times and origin cities to help them make their booking decisions with greater speed and ease.
Comprehensive information such as total transit time, vessel details, service routes, connecting voyages, and terminal facilities are also provided as a one-stop information for all.
CargoSmart™ plans to integrate the Sailing Schedule with the upcoming Internet Booking module targeted in Spring 2001 to allow customers to make bookings with greater ease and convenience.
CargoSmart™, a common carrier portal designed with customer efficiency in mind, is an open software platform that provides customers the ability to manage their shipments with multiple carriers online and the power to share information with their shipping partners. CargoSmart™ was launched on October 11, 2000 and over 100 customers are actively using the portal for their daily logistics needs.
