The contract, which begins on 3 September 2001, is the first of its type to be signed between Freightliner and a global container transportation and logistic provider for this length of time.

Malaysia International Shipping Corporation (MISC) and Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) today announced a cooperation to introduce a new Coordinated Service between ports in Europe.In this new service which is to be known as Iberia Scan Express (ISX) Service, MISC will provide two (2) vessels of 736 TEU each, whilst OOCL will contribute one (1) vessel with carrying capacity of 600 TEU. For the third time in seven years, Canada Maritime and Orient Overseas Container Line, long-term partners in the St Lawrence Co-ordinated Service (SLCS), have agreed they will each commission new tonnage to be built simultaneously for deployment in the trade between North Europe and North America via Montreal.The two shipping lines have contracted with Daewoo Shipbuilding and Heavy Machinery of South Korea to construct three ice-strengthened and winterised container ships.
