OOCL Set up New Office to Manage the Service of India

OOCL (India) Private Limited (OIPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of OOCL will be established as the general agent for OOCL in India with effect from 5th August, 2003. OIPL will have its India head office in Mumbai, and branch offices in New Delhi and Chennai. This new agency will take over all the shipping and customer service functions from Volkart Fleming Shipping and Service Limited.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank Volkart Fleming for their dedicated service in the past and their full cooperation and support now to ensure that the transfer is a very smooth one." said Mr. Jolland Lau, Managing Director of OOCL (Singapore) Pte Ltd, management office of Strait South West Asia. "In this regard, many staff that are currently under Volkart Fleming working on OOCL have been recruited by OIPL so as to ensure minimum interruption of OOCL service to our customers."

The establishment of OIPL by OOCL is to focus its resources to further develop the Indian market. The new management of OIPL under the helm of Mr. Erik Gronkjaer will set up an integrated team on customer services, sales and operation and transport logistics to ensure OOCL customers that Vital Link to India.
