In Memory of Mr. Courtenay Allan

In Memory of Mr. Courtenay Allan

1950 ~ 2003

Mr. Courtenay Allan commenced his shipping career with Bristol City Line in February 1967, thereafter spending time with Dart Containerline before finally working for the Tung Group under the OOCL banner. In the early stages of his career, Courtenay built a solid industry foundation working in Documentation, Marketing and Sales before commencing his lengthy service in the Trans-Atlantic Trade. This foundation was to place him in good stead as he was well versed in many aspects of our business, which was further underpinned by an assignment at our Hong Kong headquarters. As his career progressed, and his responsibilities grew, Courtenay's vast commercial knowledge and experience ensured that his place in our industry would never be forgotten. As Director of Transatlantic Trade, he was responsible for both the US and Canadian services operated in Europe. During his extensive career in the Atlantic trade, Courtenay faced a constantly-changing trading environment which necessitated the strategic thinking and clear vision that came so easily to him.

Courtenay will be desperately missed by family, colleagues and many industry friends around the world
