C. C. Tung Officially Opened  OOCL House, Levington, UK.

Mr. C. C. Tung, Chairman and CEO, of Orient Overseas (International) Ltd (OOIL), parent Company of OOCL officially opened OOCL House in Levington, UK. on February 19, 2003.

The building, purchased and occupied by OOCL since 1990, has been completely upgraded and refurbished to OOCL’s global building standard of hi-tech, user friendly and efficiency which caters especially for the requirement of advanced e-commerce and information technology operations. The office is wired for total Internet access and enables our staff to have easy reach to the entire information and telecommunication network to serve our customers. This extensive renovation work has taken over 12 months to complete and includes energy saving initiatives as well as much improved general staff areas.

Mr Tung said, after initiating the grand opening of the building by cutting the ribbon, "The original purchase of this building reflected the importance of the UK market to OOCL and our wish to have a permanent base here. I am confident the extensive upgrade of this building will greatly improve the working environment and will be appreciated by all my OOCL colleagues here and our customers who will benefit directly."

OOCL House is the location for OOCL’s United Kingdom head office and in total houses some 140 staff.
