OOCL Celebrates 5TH Anniversary Of Scan Baltic Express (SBX) Service

OOCL has celebrated the 5th Anniversary of its Scan Baltic Express (SBX) service. The service has grown steadily to meet customer demand and is now regarded as the leader in service quality in the region.

Since 1998 the service has gone from strength to strength. Ted Wang, Managing Director, OOCL (Europe) Limited, told customer functions held last week in Helsinki and St Petersburg, “We now have two separate weekly services using three vessels which together offer 1000 teu capacity each week to and from Finland and Russia. All three vessels are ice-strengthened which has proved essential during the harsh icy winter we have experienced this year in the Gulf of Finland. We carefully schedule the dedicated SBX vessels to ensure best possible connections with OOCL’s deep-sea services at Hamburg, Rotterdam and Antwerp. Our SBX service has grown step by step over the past five years in response to customer demand for general, reefer and project cargoes. We are delighted with the progress we have made in meeting the increasing needs of our customers to provide that vital link between the Scan Baltic region and Asia, especially China, North America and the rest of Europe.”

SBX1 schedule rotation with OOCL Neva and OOCL Nevskiy (600 teu) is St Petersburg – Hamburg – Grangemouth – Antwerp – Rotterdam – Hamburg - Gdansk – St Petersburg.

SBX2 schedule rotation with OOCL Narva (400 teu) is St Petersburg – Hamina – Hamburg - St Petersburg.
