OOCL Appoints New Agent in Turkey
OOCL today announced the appointment of Vestamar gemi acenteligi ve ticaret as its new Agent in Turkey, effective 1st July 2007. Vestamar has offices in Istanbul and Izmir.
Vestamar’s shareholders are the same for OOCL’s existing Turkish agent, Barkon.
“Vestamar will be wholly dedicated to OOCL’s activities in Turkey. We believe we can best serve our customers by having a dedicated focus on OOCL’s growing range of services to and from Turkey,” said Henry Wong, Managing Director OOCL (Europe) Limited.
“These services include the recently-announced Grand Alliance Asia Black Sea (ABX) service, which will have weekly calls in Istanbul and Izmir. The ABX will offer transits from and to Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, and Singapore,” said Mr Wong.
“In addition, OOCL has established links with North America on its AEX service via Gioia Tauro. Intra European opportunities will also be explored. We look forward to helping our customers develop their business to and from Turkey.”
