Notice on Jebel Ali & Jeddah port delays
This notice is concerning the delays to vessel berthing and transshipment connectivity in both Jebel Ali and Jeddah.

As of today there are no significant improvements in sight and therefore in order to recover the additional expenses incurred, such as ships idling and / or by-passing, OOCL will implement a congestion charge for cargo discharging and/or transshipping via Jebel Ali, in our North continent/ UK to Middle East Trade.

Therefore, with effect from October 1st, 2008 we will implement the following congestion charge for both dry and refrigerated containers:

20’ Container                  40’ GP or High Cube

Jebel Ali                    US$ 90                             US $ 180

All bookings sailing on or after this date will be subject to this new level.

We will continue to endeavour to find solutions that will minimize these delays and avoid further additional costs to our customers.

Thank you for your continued support, we will keep you advised of further developments. In the mean time  should you have any questions pertaining to this notice, please do not hesitate to contact your local OOCL office.
