we would like to inform you about the VIETNAM PORT CONGESTION SURCHARGE as follows:

Member Lines of the FEFC have been monitoring the port situation at Vietnam and are very concerned with the increased congestion experienced there. This has resulted in increased costs and Lines are no longer able to fully bear the extra costs of serving the Vietnam ports.

It is therefore their intention to implement a

Port Congestion Surcharge of USD 50 per TEU for B/L dated on or after 15th July 2008.

This surcharge only applies eastbound.

The situation at Vietnam will be kept under review and the Surcharge will be adjusted accordingly.
