Commodity description requirements
Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
wir möchten Sie erneut darauf aufmerksam machen, daß für Verschiffungen nach USA und Kanada exakte Warenbeschreibungen eine zwingende Anforderung der Zollbehörden in USA/Kanada sind. Werden diese Details nicht vom Verlader mit den Shipping instructions eingereicht, besteht die Gefahr,daß der Container vom Zoll mit einem vorläufigen Verladestopp belegt wird, bis alle Einzelheiten bekannt sind - alle hieraus evtl. entstehenden Kosten gehen zu Lasten der Ladung.
Bitte beachten Sie zudem, dass die gesamten 'Shipping instruction" inkl. etwaiger sonstiger Informationen in englischer Sprache verfasst sein müssen.
Anbei ein Auszug von zulässigen und unzulässigen Warenbeschreibungen:
"The following descriptions are not acceptable and may result in "Hold for Examination" or "Hold for More Information" notices. Unacceptable descriptions include: freight of all kinds (FAK); said to contain (STC); shippers load stow and count (SLAC); general merchandise and other similar vague descriptions.":

Dear customer,
we would like to inform you once more that for shipments to USA and Canada exact commodity descriptions are mandatory requirements of the customs agencies in USA/Canada. If these details are not handed in with the shipping instructions by the Shipper the container is at risk of being put on hold by customs until all details are provided - all resulting costs are for the account of the cargo.
