Dear customer,
Stakeholders have been working diligently to find an acceptable solution to the Port of Montreal lock-out which took effect Monday, July 19th.
We have been informed that the talks have been “positive.” The parties have reached an agreement subject to official confirmation and we expect that the lock-out may be lifted within the next 24 hours.
As previously communicated, the OOCL Montreal 180W is currently in Halifax discharging her westbound cargo. In order to arrange the swiftest possible delivery of cargo to our customers and to minimize customer costs, the SLCS has decided to reload all cargo to the vessel and resume her voyage to Montreal.
We will provide you with the vessel’s revised ETA shortly, along with details concerning cargo currently frustrated within the network and the resumption of export bookings.
Unfortunately, this situation has caused substantial additional costs to OOCL and we are now exploring how to recover these costs at minimum inconvenience to our customers.
Outlook
MSC Aniello and Toronto Express, both vessels will proceed direct to Montreal and we will update the respective ETA when known
We deeply regret the inconvenience this situation has caused and thank you for your patience and understanding. Please rest assured OOCL is working to achieve a firm foundation for our customers both now and the future.
Please contact your local OOCL office in case of any questions.
