Transatlantic Trade (Westbound) / Port Congestion Surcharge - Rule 4-T
Dear Valued Customer,
As a reminder we would herewith like to repeat our information to you that due to the possibility of labor unrest at U.S. ports we have filed a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) for all cargo bound to United States ports.
The amount of $800/20', $1000 /40' and $1265/45' per container will be assessed to all shipments due to labor unrest, including but not limited to strikes, lock-outs, work stoppages or slow down at any U.S. port(s).
The PCS will not apply on cargo bound to ports in Canada or Mexico.
The PCS will remain in effect until such time as congestion at the ports has eased back to normal levels following the conclusion of the strike.
It is important to note that this charge will be applied on any inbound cargo arriving at a U.S. port on or after December 29, on collect basis, irrespective of cargo receipt date.
We are constantly monitoring the situation. In the case that there should not be any labor action taking place, the PCS will not apply.
Please do not hesitate to contact your local sales representative should you require any additional information.
