Assistant Manager / Senior Officer - Port Operations

Job Location

Hong Kong Office

 

Accountabilities


  • To assist in driving the cost effectiveness and operational efficiency of Port Operations services.
  • To coordinate with Head Office functions, terminals, and relevant stakeholders to prioritize OOCL vessel berth and operational arrangements.
  • To support cross-functional collaboration in the design, enhancement, and implementation of operational systems, processes, and procedural guidelines.
  • To monitor vendor performance and control service quality and operating costs.
  • To liaise with terminals and internal departments to resolve operational issues and ensure smooth cargo and vessel operations.
  • To collaborate with government authorities and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with applicable regulations and requirements.
  • To prepare statistics, analyses, and management reports related to throughput, port operations, service performance, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • To coordinate and handle cargo claims, abandoned cargo cases, and related operational matters.

 

Requirements

 

  • University degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in shipping, terminal, port operations, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and external parties.
  • Strong analytical mindset with solid numerical and statistical analysis skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, well-organized, and detail oriented.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; proficiency in Putonghua is an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Candidates with high potential but less working experience may be considered for the position of Senior Officer.
